Did you know? The Food Pyramid recommends three servings from the 'milk, yogurt and cheese' food group each day, and for those aged 9-18 years, five servings daily are recommended. Examples of a serving include 200ml of milk, 125ml of yogurt or 25g of hard cheese.
National Dairy Week runs from the May 12th-18th 2014, and is a nationwide celebration of dairy.
During this week, the National Dairy Council aims to highlight the quality of dairy foods in Ireland, and to raise awareness of how dairy is produced from farm to fridge. It also aims to raise awareness of the nutritional benefits of milk, yoghurt and cheese, and the vital role they can play as part of a healthy, balanced diet.
The Restaurants Association of Ireland, in conjunction with Admailer.ie from An Post, are on the search for Ireland’s premier foodie destination. Ten towns/destinations from all over the country will battle it out to be named Ireland’s top town for a foodie experience.
The Munster Catering Expo was held Tuesday and Wednesday 25th and 26th March in the Rochestown Park Hotel. It was an opportunity for all those involved in the catering Industry in Munster to showcase their products and services.
