Van Salesperson Assistant Position Available
 

The suitable candidate should:

- reside in the Clonakilty area
- be a self-starter
- have the ability to work on their own initiative
- have some experience in food distribution, however full training will be provided
- have ability to work 5 days per week (Mon-Fri inclusive.)
- have good spoken English
- have minimum B Driving Licence

Basic wages and expenses package plus career enhancement opportunity for the right candidate.
Full-time / Permanent position.

Clona Dairy Products Ltd. Quality Role

Position Summary:
The successful applicant will be fully trained in three key areas in the quality department- laboratory assistant, quality assistant and quality controller. This role is not a fixed position, and the successful applicant will work where needed within the quality team. This role requires someone who is flexible and works well as part of a team. The successful applicant will be hired on a 6-month contract basis. The contract may be renewed, and a permanent role given based on review after 6 months. This position would be perfect for a person who is looking to enhance their laboratory and quality skills/knowledge.

Laboratory Job role:

  • - 10-6pm finished product or 7-3pm or raw milk intake- laboratory staff do every second week in each area.
  • - Working as part of a team in the busy environment of our in-house lab carrying out finished product and raw milk testing (CCP).
  • - Taking stock in the laboratory of supplies and weighed out ingredients
  • - Housekeeping and cleaning of the laboratory
  • - Water and chemical testing
  • - Contacting farmers with out of specification results
  • - Carrying out data entry using Microsoft excel and word and trending of micro results when required.
  • - Reporting any non-conformances to the Quality Team Lead
  • - Attending weekly quality meetings and highlighting any ongoing issues or nonconformances
  • - Calibration of laboratory equipment
  • - Assisting with customer and regulatory audits and visits
  • - Training of new staff when required
  • - Ordering equipment & materials when required
  • - Updating of the lab manual as requested
     

Quality Controller Job Role:

  • - 9-5pm daily & 12:30 – 20:30 on Wednesdays.
  • - Support to the Quality Team Lead at all times.
  • - Ensuring the implementation of the quality manual, PRP & HACCP & reporting any non-conformances.
  • - Typing up production paperwork daily and correcting any issues.
  • - Supplier approval and maintaining files.
  • - Responding to customer questionnaires & requests.
  • - Carrying out any quality projects required: traceability & mass balance, updating & maintaining of manuals & folders at the request of the Quality Team Lead.
  • - Assisting the Quality Team Lead with audit close outs.
  • - Responsible for Bord Bia farmer audit close outs.
  • - Responsible for farmers animal health certs
  • - Responsible for the weighing out of ingredients and stock take.
     

Quality Assistant Job Role:

  • - 8-4pm daily
  • - Monitoring production and ensuring all quality and hygiene rules are implemented and followed.
  • - Carrying out quality checks on a daily basis on the production floor e.g. temperatures, weight checks, paperwork checks etc.
  • - Reporting any non-conformances to the Quality Team Lead
  • - Attending weekly quality meetings and highlighting any ongoing issues or nonconformances
  • - Carrying out data entry using Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • - Trending hygiene audit data & creating reports.
  • - Carrying out traceability & mass balance exercises 
  • - Completing hygiene audits, glass and hard plastic audits
  • - Support to the Quality Team Lead at all times

Requirements:

  • - Degree level qualification in a relevant discipline e.g. Food Science & Technology or equivalent.
  • - The successful applicant must be flexible regarding start and finish times – the role will require some weekend work, late finishing times and early start times.
  • - Strong Microsoft Word and Excel skills.
  • - Strong communication skills, teamwork skills and must be able to take initiative.
  • - Must be available for immediate start.
  • - Experience of 2+ years in laboratory/quality work is an advantage however full training will be given.
